A mother and daughter have died after being hit by an EV vehicle in Sanibheri Rural Municipality of Rukum West. The mother and daughter died when an EV vehicle heading from Simli to Chaurjahari hit them on the Mid-Pahadi Lok Marg in Ward No. 8, Ekanat, Sanibheri Rural Municipality on Sunday.
The deceased are Ghanshyam Gyawali's wife Swastika Poudel, 26, a resident of Baletksar, Ruru Kshetra Rural Municipality, Ward No. 4, Gulmi, and currently working at Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Musikot Khalanga, and his daughter Shandika Gyawali, 2, said Police Inspector Jhabindra Pariyar, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Rukum West.
The mother and daughter, who were seriously injured in the accident, were brought to the District Hospital for treatment, but the doctor declared them dead at 9:30 this morning during treatment, he said. According to him, the mother and daughter were going to Surkhet from Musikot Khalanga in a force vehicle with the number K.P.02001 Kha 1070.
After her daughter needed to urinate, she stopped the vehicle at Sanibheri 8 and got out of the vehicle and crossed the road to take her to the toilet. When the EV vehicle with the number Bhe.1J.1482 driven by 22-year-old Ammar B.K. of Chaukhe, Sanibheri Rural Municipality 3, which was heading towards Chaurjahari from Simli, hit both the mother and daughter, Police Inspector Pariyar informed.
The driver B.K. has been taken into custody and the EV vehicle is at the scene, he said. A team of 11 people including traffic from the District Police Office under the command of Police Inspector Hemanta Giri and a team of 13 people from the Area Police Office, Chaurjahari under the command of Police Inspector Ajay Dangi, has been deployed at the scene.
