A woman from Sisne Rural Municipality -1 of Rukum East has given birth on the road. Ward secretary Chandradev Khadka informed that Maya Budha, a 24-year-old woman from Sisne -1 Lammakha, gave birth to her daughter at a place called Pakhapani in the middle of the road.
Newly born baby is her second child. The health workers who went from the Sisne health center gave birth on the way. Kashiram Oli, the in-charge of the Sisne health department, went with a stretcher after getting the news that she was suffering from labor pains on the way.
Secretary Khadka said that after giving birth on the way, a team including health workers took the mother and baby to the health center. According to him, the condition of mother and baby is normal. He said that the mother and baby were discharged after 24 hours of monitoring.
Sisne rural municipality ward number -1 has not been connected to the road network. In this ward, where there is only one health institution, one has to walk for hours to reach the health institution. One has to walk for 1 to 2 days to reach District Hospital Rukumkot.
