On the occasion of Dashain, Rukum business of 18 crores by selling goats

In this year's Dashain, there has been a business of goats worth 18 crores in Rukum West. A total of 8,290 goats were bought and sold across the district targeting Dashain, according to Animal Hospital and Animal Services Office Rukum West Gyanukumar Sharma, head of the office, informed that there is an estimated turnover of 17 crores 96 lakhs 50 thousand.

According to him, this statistic was prepared based on the details received from the local government. It also includes the details of consumption in the district and those sent outside the district. goats worth about 14 crores rupees have gone out of the district this Dashain.

Head of Animal Hospital and Animal Services Office Sharma said that Rukum`west´ gets worth 13 crores, 82 lakh, 50 thousand rupees by sent 5,530 goats out of district. goats have gone to Pokhara, Kathmandu, Dang, Nepalganj, Surkhet, Dolpa, and other places from the district targeting Dashain.

During Dashain, the total value of goats worth 17 crores, 96 lakhs, 50 thousand was traded in the district, while 5530 goats sent out the district at the worth of 13 crores, 82 lakh, 85 thousand, and the remaining of worth 4 crores 14 lakhs were consumed in the district.

This year, the exports has increased in the district, while the consumption has decreased slightly compared to last year, according to the statistics of the Animal Hospital and Animal Services Office. Chief Sharma said that the highest turnover in the district was 3 thousand 28 goats in Aathbiskot Municipality, while the lowest turnover was 558 goats in Tribeni Rural Municipality.

According to him, 2 thousand 69 goats have been sold in Banfikot, 1 thousand 58 in Musikot, 989 in Sanibheri, and 588 in Chaurjahari municipality. According to the office, the number and amount of goats sent out of the district have been prepared based on the permission of the Local Governments, and the consumption in the district has been calculated on the basis of sales by goat farms and meat shops in the district.

Rukum West is completely self-sufficient in meat and milk. According to the office, even after reaching the district meat and milk are being exported outside the district. goats go all the way to the capital for meat, while milk goes to places like Rukum East, Jajarkot, and Salyan.
